The Downpour - Damson Vodka Cocktail
Inspired by a British rainy day, The Downpour - Damson Vodka cocktail was born a blend of Damson Vodka, Elderflower Sorbet and Hella Bitters.
It’s been a heady month or so in the UK. Like summer in Europe…Scorching sun for days on end followed by our first glorious thunderstorm yesterday.
The Downpour - Damson Vodka Cocktail.
When the claps of thunder subsided and we had torrential rain, all four of us, 2 adults and 2 children, couldn’t resist running outside to dance in the rain followed by being wrapped up in large, soft white towels - big grins on everyone’s faces!
The gardens have been grateful for the soak, as has the elderflower which is nearly in full flower and ready to have foraged.
Sat in the kitchen watching the rainfall I found inspiration for this evening’s cocktail, which I will name ‘The Downpour’.
And you can make it at home, here is our recipe in 2 easy steps!
- Shake 50ml Damson Vodka, with a scoop of elderflower sorbet and a dash of Hella Bitters vigorously over ice.
- Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a sprinkling of pink peppercorns and a grind of black pepper.
Anyway, go and get yourself drenched in one of these!
